C4 tranny leak

C4 tranny leak
Ok, I'm in dire need of getting my 68 on the road. The 5.4 in my 99 F150 just blew up yesterday. The bill? $6300 parts and labor and that's the best quote with a Jasper engine.
Anyway, I have a lot to do on the old girl. The one thing that has be baffled is a tranny leak. I have replaced the rear seal and the shifter shaft seal. It has a fairly new tranny pan gasket on it too. What other components could be leaking? I plan on re-checking the cooling lines and it doesn't seem to be coming from the front seal. Any ideas from you tranny guru's out there? Thanks!!!

Clean it off real good and then watch to see from where the leak is coming. That's the easiest way to find out. If you have a fairly new pan gasket on there then re-tighten the bolts. On every tranny I've ever serviced it seems the pan bolts come loose once and need a re-tightening. But you just named almost all of the spots that can leak. Clean it off real good and then park it and look for where the leak originates.

also at the trans for te cooling line leak. And of course the servo has a gasket as well. it is on the pass. Side.

Ok, the servo is the canister looking thing, right? The weird thing is this, I've looked while it was running and couldn't find where it was coming from. Once it sits for a little while, I get a puddle. I'll scrutinize everything better this weekend for sure.

Yep, your best bet would be to hit the local car wash and hit the high-pressure spray to the transmission, getting it as clean as possible. Then drive for a little while and take home and park it. Come back out later and try to see where the fresh fluid is coming from. Maybe put a piece of clean cardboard under it so you can get an idea of where the drip is coming from?

Usual leak sources are, front pump seal, shifter shaft seal, modulator,
pan gsk, tailshaft seal, and sometimes a pinhole in the converter, where
the thing is welded. Wipe it down with a rag, and warm it up looking at
where the leak starts from. You might need to use a mirror and a light
to find it. Look at the speedo adaptor at the back of the trans too.
