The car in Mad Max was a '73 (Australian) Ford XB GT Falcon coupe.Heirloom wrote:Mad max style huh? Perhaps a switchable roots blower topped Cleveland engine?? Ok, ok, the blower was faked and to my knowledge there's no on/off switchable blowers.
Will be a cool project!
Haha, I shouldn't even say mad max style. Immediately people think I want to make a Hollywood replica. I guess when I say that I mean a gritty, barebones shell of a car that is pure muscle. My original vision was a flat black, stripped interior, sheet metal dash (stock car like), with the windows removed and expanded metal welded in place. I was thinking tunnel ram with dual quadrajets, and an m22 tranny. The problem is that this car is too nice to destroy like that. The paint will actually buff out to be pretty nice. And I love the louvered windows, so I'll keep those. I'll probably refinish the rally 2 wheels and keep them, with larger rear tires, with raised white letters. The bumpers are nice too, so I won't make the tubular steel bumpers I had in mind. The interior is absolutely trashed, which is how I got it so cheap, so there's still room for creativity in there. All in all, it's going to be slow going, since the bump is still my main priority.Heirloom wrote:Mad max style huh? Perhaps a switchable roots blower topped Cleveland engine??
