'69 250 Camper Special Project Thread
Hi guys,
Picked up a '69 a little while back for a fun project. 140k w/ the engine rebuilt at 100k. 2bbl, power steering, front disc, heating and a/c. Wimbledon White w/ Blue interior and the teak wood accents. A good base to work with.I've done quite a few things to it so i'll post some I've done already and then update it along the way.
Here's the truck.

Re: '69 250 Camper Special Project Thread
We started with underhood stuff to get this thing driving:
Edelbrock Performer Intake Manifold w/ 4bbl Carb (electric choke)
Edelbrock Fuel Pump
PerTronix Flame Thrower Distributor w/ Flame-Thrower II Ignition Coil
Rod-Out on the Radiator
Rebuilt Gearbox
Rebuilt Transmission
New basics (water pump, p/s pump, belts, hoses, etc.)
We also put on Hedman Hedders w/ Magnaflow exhaust. Whoever said Headers can't fit in a 390fe camper special is wrong. We just decided to give it a go, and while it was a tight shot, it worked out find. Have to reposition the A/C bracket, and get a new starter. I went with a heat-shield wrapped, high-torque mini starter from summit
Nothing visually please but it does the job.

Re: '69 250 Camper Special Project Thread
while the front clip was off for some of the work, I sent the aluminum grill and bezels out to get polished. I also sprayed the front and in the engine bay a little bit. I used degreaser, rust encapsulator, then high-temp flat bbq paint from ace on all of it except for the radiator (used eastwood's radiator paint).

Nice work. I like how the black paint in the engine bay turned out. You got me thinking about doing this on my own bump now. Keep the updates coming.

Good look-in truck! Looks like a good clean solid truck to start with. I can't wait to see the grill all polished up and back on the truck. Keep us posted.

All Aluminum Done!
I polished and striped the aluminum rocker panels and tailgate pieces myself a few months back. You can read my post on the polishing here http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =7&t=76367
Grille was professionally done. Wasn't going to mess around with that.

Re: '69 250 Camper Special Project Thread
thanks guys!
Had a late night getting all the sound dampening installed! After reading a few different reviews, i went with Zilla Mat. Got it down on the cab floor, headliner, and i'll eventually do the doors. Here;'s a photo of it installed.
interior so far:
-eastwood rust encapsulator on certain areas
-duplicolor rubberized sound spray
-zilla mat on cab floor and headliner/roof
till the next update!

Rattle Can Paint Job Complete!
Cab is painted! Just finished the clear coats. Still gotta wet sand a little and wax it after it sits a few weeks, but I'm pretty happy with it.
The whole job was done with Duplicolor spray cans.
I also took the opportunity to bondo the dash pad holes. My first time ever using the stuff and it was super painless. I had them all prepped and filled in half an hour or so.
still need to paint the inside of the doors but I've gotta do a few things to them first.
