Files are too large

Question: Every pic file I attempt to upload is too large. How do I go about reducing their size to make them load?

I'm on windows vista and what i do is choose your pic. right click, choose open with, then choose paint. Choose image, then re-size/skew. Go in and just play with and you will figure it out

You can do the same thing in Microsoft Office, but it automatically resizes it smaller, I had to save it and resize about 3 times before it was small enough... such a pain though, the image size restriction is way to small for todays cameras
