Question about wheel backspacing

Post by HOWELL »

I have a 72 ford my grandfather left me when he passed away. I'm almost finished with the Crown Vic front end. I'm wondering if I keep the stock rear end and use an adapter to get the 5x4.5 bolt pattern, what backspacing on a 20x10 rear wheel would work best for me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just really don't want to buy another rear end or axles right now. Ready to get this thing back on the road and enjoy it.

Post any pictures you have.

Thanks, Justin

How thick of an adapter is required to change the bolt pattern? Meaning, what is the minimum? After figuring that out, then the wheel offset can be determined.

The ones I found are 1 1/4". also I found a machine shop locally that will redrill the axles for the 5x4.5 pattern.
