Hey There,
This is a shot in the dark but I'll try anyway. I'm trying to locate an original ford adapter kit for removing the front coil springs on a 1969 cougar. I believe that mustang would have also used this tool. Any old ford mechanics out there that might be willing to part with one??
Thanks Much,
Ford Tool Wanted

Re: Ford Tool Wanted
I think Falcon's and Mustangs used this same tool. I bought a modern day remake years ago on ebay. Could've made it myself had I known what it looked like. (I can't part with mine, I still have several of these cars in the stable).
Mine looks just like the one in this thread:

and similar to this one on ebay:

Re: Ford Tool Wanted
Your local Autozone will likely have one to rent.
If you can fab, it is relatively easy to make one.

When I did mine 30 years ago I just used the chain hoist down thru the top of the shock tower and a bar across the coil spring, but when you are just out of high school you make things work.

Yea, I can relate. I did a LOT of things back when I was a lot younger that today I'm thinking how the heck did I do that or why did I do it that way?? Today however, I'm a lot more aware of how I approach things and put a little more thought into what I'm taking on. Safety is BIG in my mindset right now and I formulate a plan before making any repairs. Being older & wiser now makes me look at things a whole lot different!
Cheers!
