1971 F100 Crown Vic swap w/Supercharged LS swap
Bought this 1971 this winter. Plans are crown victoria front suspension, LQ4, 4L80E, Turbo tire burner. Truck is really solid but of course drives just like all worn out old trucks.
Towing it home. I drove almost 2000kms round trip in one day to pick it up.

Got home safe. Went for one drive around the neighborhood just to try out the 3 on the tree. Never had one before. Clutch is totally shot. Shifting is a guessing game. The steering has about half a turn of slop. But the engine purrs like new. None of that really matters though because it's all gotta go.
Pulled it into the garage and gave it a wash.
Nice and straight and pretty rust free

Got the front end off and tore the engine/trans out. If anyone needs a 302 in Alberta, send me a message.
Got the front suspension out too and started hacking out the cross member to make room for the crown vic swap. Also got some time to go to the only wrecking yard in town. Found what I was looking for.

Bought a donor truck! 6.0 with 4l80e. The guy was asking $1500, but I had it on the trailer for $700! I was super excited because it's pretty hard to find a 2wd around here.
Finally had a nice day while I had a day off. Took my 14 year old to the wrecking yard and we pulled out the front suspension from a P71 Crown Vic. He was a ton of help. Fun afternoon.
Got the suspension cleaned up and installed. I also painted the frame up front and the body mount where I had to do a couple small patches. Very little rust on this truck. Trying to stay ahead of it.
Also got the steering connected to the factory column.

Interesting project looks good so far. Not the biggest fan of the ls in the ford but very interested to see how it turns out. Know big power is easy with turbo ls. Will be watching.
Just another Ford fool named Dan.

Neat project. If you plan on keeping the stock cluster, pup the oil pressure and water temp senders off the 302 before selling it. Those gauges aren't the most accurate but it's nice when they work.

That's a great idea. I'm planning on adding a can bus gauge pack too. Just trying to decide which one.

Got the motor set in the truck and built some motor mounts. Poly bushings on the motor. Reusing the GM trans mount on ford cross member. Just had to move it back and notch it. Also got a new power steering pump and shimmed it to drop the pressure for the crown vic rack. Was busy working and forgot to take pictures. But here's a couple with the motor and trans set in.
