I've hauled bumpsides with large slide in campers on them forwards and backwards. the trailers usually are in poor condition and tow like crap (maybe because of truck with camper on it?). I tell them I'm hauling a mustang. Uhaul trailers are great for one thing. When you need a car hauler right away for local tows.
Good to hear! I drove my truck to a uHaul center after business hours and measured the wheelbase dimensions of the truck against the transport trailer and there seemed to be enough clearance for my F250.
The
15" uHaul truck has the following specs:
Max load: 6,385 lbs.
Gross vehicle weight: 14,500 lbs. max.
Empty weight: 8,115 lbs.
Towing capacity: Up to 10,000 lbs.
The
transport trailer:
Max load: 5,290 lbs.
Gross vehicle weight: 7,500 lbs. max.
Empty weight: 2,210 lbs.
2016 Triumph T120 (wet): 441lbs
1973 Honda CB750K3 (wet): 499lbs
1970 Ford F250 Camper Special 2WD 5.9L 360 V8 (wet): ?????? 5000lbs
(All vehicles are stock configurations with no weight-increasing modifications)
The numbers now have me a little worried. I'm thinking that I may tie the Triumph motorcycle down in the uHaul Truck and then load the Auto Transport trailer with the F250 carrying the CB750, but that still puts me a bit over the 5,290lb max load limit of the Auto Transport trailer, assuming that the F250 is around 5,000lbs. This is tricky.
