opinions on retractable tonneau

Post by geradr4 »

Hi guys! I'm looking for a retractable tonneau like the Pace Edwards and Roll-N-Lock. Does anyone have one? How's your experience with this type of cover? I'm curious if it is worth installing on a vintage truck. Thanks in advance.

The only issue I've ever seen encountered is that over time, they'll bind up when you try to push them in standing by the side of the bed. They still work fine if you push them from dead center and if they're spring loaded that negates that issue. However, a friend had something similar on his SportTrac and it got sketchy after a few years.

I have one that has been on my 09 Silverado since the truck was new. No issues at all. I just use WD-40 once in a while to keep it smooth.
Course where I live cold is 28 give or take.
I love it!
