I am considering putting some LED lights in my truck (turn signals, tail lights etc.) My question is if you use LED lights to replace the standard bulbs do you have to replace all the bulbs in the truck to get them to work properly? or can you have some LED's and some standard bulbs? Also are there any suggestions for LED bulbs that work better than others or can you just buy bulbs at the local auto parts store? Please let me know if you have any experience in this, and what worked for you. I don't want to spend a bunch of money on these and they don't work properly.
Thanks!

Re: LED Lights
Personally I think LED's in old trucks look kind of dumb. The color is horrible and they still need enough current draw for the flashers to work so you don't save much energy running them.

Re: LED Lights
Thanks for the responses! The reason I was thinking of getting LED bulbs was because I recently restored my front and rear turn signal brackets and I painted it chrome color where they came white from the factory. I am concerned if the chrome paint color is going to intensify the heat generated by the standard bulb. My thought is that the LED will not generate as much heat. Should I be concerned with the potential of heat generation? Was there a reason they were painted white from the factory?
Thanks for any additional inputs

Re: LED Lights
I wouldn't worry much about the heat but the LED's do produce much less. They just painted them white because it was inexpensive and reflected well enough.
