Some behind-the-scenes pics at LMC Truck...

Post by FORDification »

These shots show the 'Fitting Room' at LMC Truck. This warehouse is attached to the R&D Dept. and is where LMC keeps samples of all the trucks they sell parts for, which we need for research purposes and allows us to check fitment of new parts. In addition to the Ford trucks pictured, there's a good collection of Ch*vy and Dodge trucks as well, plus a couple MGs and Triumphs...there are probably another 6-8 vintage trucks that aren't visible.

Many of these trucks are in various stages of disassembly, left over from when someone in the past removed something for testing purposes but then never reinstalled them later. Well, starting next month the entire Research Dept. will be spending their Fridays in this warehouse, getting all these trucks reassembled. So even though I spend most of my days sitting in front of a computer sourcing parts these days, for the foreseable future I'll be able to get my hands dirty one day each week.

That...is...so.. freaking cool!!! Talk about dreams come true! I had no idea this was the process to creating reproduction parts. It makes sense though. Man....I look forward to what you're going to do for us bump lovers :)

Cool!

Think you can sneak out the grill on that green truck on the lift and send it my way?

I was considering those grill inserts for my truck someday. After seeing them on that truck I realize I just need the whole assembly.
