Ok, time for a little update:

I have been painting the body panels that are not currently on the truck using the $50 roll on rustomeum. Has been coming along beautifully. I have put the wiring harness from my donor truck into it and got it all wired up. Yesterday, I began to try to get the thing to start and ran into a little electrical trouble as I am NOT an electrician, and therefore, know nothing about wiring a vehicle. However with a little help from the guy on the forum had the truck turning over today. Then, I installed the gas tank, hooked up all the fuel lines and tried to start the 302. After a trip to the store to get replacement rubber lines (all mine were cracked), the truck fired right up and ran very smoothly with about 600rpm idle. No adjustments needed to the carb or distributor. I was (and still am) very excited about this as I purchased the truck in July in a non-running condition, and it turns out that all that was needed was new wiring and starter. It was then time for a short test drive. Imagine one of our trucks cruising down the road with no lights, grill, fenders, hood, bed or doors. This was a BAD way to discover that the brakes do not do anything whatsoever. So that will be my next project along with painting the cab, starting tomarrow. Also I will post alot more pics tomarrow.

71 long bed helped me out with photobucket. Basically create an account with username and password, upload dig. pics from your computer to their site using the browse button, finally once it's uploaded click on the top box under the photo that says URL and copy, paste in your post here and it'll appear in blue as a link when you submit the post entry.

I've fininshed painting all the white on the truck and am ready to start with the blue. I put the front end back together today so i could paint all the blue at on time, except for the hood. Also I hooked up all of the wiring and put the interior back together, and bled the brakes, so I could finally drive it around. Its an awesome feeling to be able to finally drive the truck. I still need to start work on the bed but, I did put some trailer type lights on the rear frame so I would be legal. Here are some pics:

Tomarrow, I'm gonna put some spare doors and a spare hood on it and take it up to get inspected.

I've gotten alot done over this last week. Mainly with the paint.

Image

I've fininshed up with most of the painting. i figure that I'll wait a couple of weeks before i do all the final wetsanding and buffing. I want to get all of that out of the way before i put the bed back on. Overall, I really like the way the rolled on rustolium turned out. It went on smooth and even, although if I hadn't rushed it so much it would look even better.
