Well, I am in kinda a great perdicament (sp). Our little Escort has gone to the graveyard in the sky I am afraid.
Steph and I were talking tonight and came to the conclusion that instead of running out and buying a newer vehicle, that I should go ahead and just keep rebuilding my truck (accelerate the process a bit) and get it back into shape. It really breaks my heart to do it, but :twisted: gall dern it the girl has a point
Over the course of the next few months I am going to start gathering the last of the parts I am needing and will be asking a jillion questions.
I have the 70 CrewCab 4X4 and have good front bumper brackets, but I will need a set of bumper brackets for the rear. Are these the ones I will need?

I am going to need headlight covers, preferrebly steel, for a '68 grille.
I also will need the upper and lower valances as well.
I have a few things to trade or will buy outright if need be for these.
I have 2 fenders, a hood, 2 doors, and probably have a np435 tranny, bellhousing, extra gas tank (behind the seat). I would really like to put a mustang tank in the very back where the spare tire goes...
Will also have a couple good 4 speed clutch forks, a real nice clutch cover, been painted...
Anyhow, that is my horrible dilema. Gotta get busier now

Those are the brackets I got for my 71 F100. I don't know if your crew is a F100 (doubt it) so I'm not sure that the brackets are the same for a 250/350.

Well, back to the drawing board on the drivetrain. I had a line on a short tailshaft and housing for my C6, but that guy simply evaporated after assuring we had a done deal, so....
I believe that I am just going to go ahead and reinstall my np435 4 speed and live with it. They are a good tranny aren't they?
I ordered my rear leaf spring and shackle bushings tonight. Poly like I have on the front already and black. Had a hard time finding black for some reason. Most I found were red. I wanted black. Does anyone know the specific size and grade of bolts for the rear leaf spring and shackles? I ned new ones and need to know exactly what to ask for.
I have a 2nd 390 with the c6 attached I am gonna ask around if someone would want to trade to rebuild my good 390. I have found a few places to get a rebuild kit for my Dana 24 transfer case so I am gonna order that tonight as well and get started on that.
Making a little progress.
Oh yeah, does anyone know for sure if the f100 rear bumper brackets will be the same as the f250 ones? I know where a set of F-100 brackets are sitting.

Got the cab home today! Still needs some work done, but most of the bad work has been done and the dash is smooth as silk! I sat it down on the frame and it looks GOOD to have at least a couple of pieces back at least in the same vicinity . I am gonna take some pictures today I hope. Maybe in another 5 years I can say it is done
I have a question for the electricians out there. I am wanting to do some dividing up of the wiring harness and am looking for some theough the wall connectores, whereas you can cut the wires at the firewall and put ends on one side to plug into a grommet/connector to go on through the firewall for easier disconnection when necessary. Also, I am wanting to upgrade the fuse panel to a more modern panel. Does anyone hake a good general generic panel with enough fuses that will work? I can do the wiring no prob, just have never hunted for the parts I need for this part of the project.

its prob an industrial motor. do you know what year and what series? would be worth going and looking at. if for anything the 5 speed might work . even if it doen't have a overdrive it nice to have lots of gears in 4x4.

The 535 was an industrial motor. Most likely has a clark 5 speed behind it. No thanks. Special parts = expensive to fix.
