If you still have a piece of that peg board, why don't you throw it in some water or wet it down for a couple of days and see if you could make it flexable. I bet when it dried, it would be stiff again. Just an idea.

Minor update: Installed LED tail lights. Saw it on a truck at the F100 Western Nationals and really liked it. bought a pair of LED trailer lights that looked about the size of the lenses on our trucks. Pulled the LED panel out of the trailer light, wired it up to the truck and fit it in the lens, and now you can see me (good :D ) at night.

I love it, makes a huge differance to the appearance of the lights. Never would have thought of using trailer lights. Really cool.

BiggDogg wrote:Got the stereo, homemade  headliner, and speakers installed. I guess its been a while since I've dealt with aftermarket stereo/speakers... I picked up the JVC stereo at Walmart for $97- it has 200 watts of power, a detachable faceplate, direct plug in for ipod, and a remote :? . Add to it two Sony 5.25" 4-way speakers, rated for 160 watts-cost $39. So with tax and the metra Volvo kit, about $165-$170. The sound quality absolutely knocked my socks off. Throw in some Credence Clearwater Revival and we're good to go

The headliner is made of pegboard. It wasn't flexible enough to make the bends, so the two ends of the headliner above the doors are plastic lenses for fluorescent lights. Came out better than I expected. I probably would of redone it in black if it weren't for the lens covers. All in all I'm pretty satisfied with it.

Nice mods. The tail lights look great and good job on the stereo system. It is amazing the quality of the equipment these days, even the inexpensive stuff.

Thanks guys, the LED tail lights are probably one of my favorite mods so far, and the stereo is nice too. Truckguy, the speakers in the headliner really shocked me. The fit is perfect and the sound is great... I can hear the tunes cruising down the freeway with the windows down, something I never thought I could do. :D

Man those taillights are nice.
I like the headliner too. It has a unique look to it.
I have the same stereo in mine and it does have a good sound to it. I never put speakers in the headliner because I figured it would have a tin can sound. Now I'm thinking about trying it. Just have too many non-bump related things to do right now though. :(

Well Summer is over (even though we are in the 90's still :cuss: ), darkness creaps in around 5ish, and it sneaks up quicker and quicker each day. Not a huge update, but finally picked up some Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers and had them installed. They are dumped just before the rear axle. Best part of it is the local speed shop I got the mufflers from decided not to carry them anymore, and they happened to have just two left, so they sold them to me at cost plus tax :D . I love these Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers. Huge improvement over the glasspacks, sounds smooth, nice rumble, especially when you get on it. No annoying resonance in the cab, but you definitely know they're there. Seems to have woken up the truck a little too. I have video, but having issues getting it to load...

I'll second your opinion on the aero chambers. It's probably not a figment of your imagination; the hookers flow quite a bit better than glasspacks. I had them on my 65 and saw the same results: great sound, no annoying resonance, and a few extra ponies.
