We started out hand sanding the hood.we also have sanded down to bare metal on the bed. It kinda slipped my mind to use precaution.yeah i havent been much for safety. I only wear precautions if i have to get close.I wear a full face barrier sometimes(that was after i almost took a grinding wheel to the face). Its great cause she likes helping me on Jeanne(shes also the only Girlfriend i have had that doesnt hate my truck). The girls that hate my truck Jeanne never last too long. :D

ha ha ha thanks kaptn.I know she is a keeper.her friend took the pic while i was helpin her with the drill(the pic doesnt look it i know).its a good idea Kaptn. But if i got them to i wouldnt want you getting too happy about it. only joking.
She cleans windows at her house.maybe she will wash Jeanne's when i get new glass.I wouldnt make her clean glass i aint keepin.ha ha ha.
She also doesnt think Jeanne is the most vile disgusting truck shes ever seen(one of my EXs actually said that but i got rid of her right quick).
She actually thinks its cool how im fixin Jeanne up to be my daily driver(when i start that is). I mean my dad barely has time to help so normally Im workin by myself. Its really nice to have someone help ya once in a while.

I have a 17 year old son that I'm doing the same thing with, only a 71' Ranchero instead of a bump.
Enjoy your father's company and help with your truck, as being some of the best quality spent time of your life.
We dad's won't be around forever...

Also very cool your girlfriend likes the bump, far too rare these day to find a girl like that. She's gotta be a keeper!
I found this in my wife some 18 years ago, and we still enjoy this type of activity as "quality time".

Be careful with that wire wheel, they generate a lot of heat and can warp metal. You may want to chemical strip or media blast.

Watch wire wheels or anything else that rotates in close quarters. A couple weeks ago I was cleaning a balancer with a wire brush on an angle grinder. The brush caught the vise and the grinder got away from me. It grabbed my t-shirt and the shirt stalled the grinder. It's about healed but I'll have a big scar on my belly.

oh trust me i know that bad things can happen with power tools if you arent careful. I was up under Jeanne using my drill with a grinding attachment.Well i had to cut a bolt cause it was rusted real bad.I saturated it with WD40.still nothin. So im cutting and the drills chucks come loose and the cutting wheel breaks free. It comes down real fast like and slams into the ground within an inch of my ear.Needless to say i started wearin a full face helmet.Until i lost it.
