fuel tank selector switch

Getting ready to take the 68's fuel tank selector switch apart and clean it. Figure it may be why I get a partial reading on both tanks. When I fill them the main one reads just under 1/2, and when I switch to it the aux. reads about the same. Once each tank gets down under half a tank the gage reading for both tanks works all the way to empty. Any tricks to taking off the switch, or is it simple like any other switch removal?
My 68 and my wood working sure help keep me in a good mindset.

the problem isnt in that switch. it is possibly the gauge in the dash. or an adjustment to the ipvr on back of the instrument cluster. here is a link to test it.

Check this post. Sometime the contacts get dirty and need to be cleaned. The switch comes apart easily. Just watch for all the small parts. Actually, the switch has 2 set of poles and by switching wires you may be able to use the other set of poles.
