Post counts taking a hit.

Post by Thunderfoot »

Some of you (including myself) will notice a reduction in your post counts... Been doing some house cleaning in the "Classifieds Section" and still got one more section to do  anyway I'm going to try to keep up with it. For those that have/had posted in the "Parts for Sale", "Parts Wanted" and "Trucks for Sale" I'm going to keep this to a 2 month range, so if you are still looking/selling you will need to keep it BUMPED up to keep it there or you will have to re-post it when it is gone...

Sorry for your post count reduction, but it should help with server stuff and search functions, I'm sure you can get it built back up again.

Thanks for you understanding,
Shayne

sounds like a good way to free up space to me. Should clear out the testing area too if you haven't already.

Hey Post counts are cool and all but not that important. Wonder if a script can be made that posts in the classifieds don't add to counts anyways?

post counts are pretty silly lol
only way i use them is to tell if someone just joined the site or has been around for a while
I think a "rep" feature would be more handy but still wouldn't do much because maybe less than 10 people out of the thousands on here would ever get a negative rep.
Selling rep... now that might be handy...

We had to dock you a star because you're from Oklahoma...

To add to this:

I'm going to be cleaning out some stuff in the engine forum, no valuable technical information will be deleted but if it is not technical it may get gone.

As a result, post counts will be taking another hit... ...probably between now and the first of the year...

Hey if it'll help keep the forums streamlined, and perhaps even the relevent stuff, so many people post the same question every few months anyways.

Yep, still cleaning, slow going it is taking 45 minutes to an hour per page... only 140 pages to go... so far I'm somewhere around mid 2005...

Quite a trip down memory lane there are many old timers who haven't been around for quite sometime, I wonder about them? jor, willowbilly, morganator, 68f250 and many many more that don't seem to have been around lately...

Lots of old dead picture links and outdated cost estimates and so forth, In 5-6 pages I bet there have been 10 threads about head and block casting numbers...
