As some of you have seen from my first post, I'm a High School Senior whos working on my Papa's 1972 F250 Camper Special Sport Custom. I haven't really had the money to do anyhing but tear stuff down and figure out what I had to work with. Come to find out just about everything cannot be reused or fixed So I thought all hope was lost on having this truck running soon. But today I was looking and I found a guy with a 302, I called and sure enough it was in running order. The next thing to cross my mind was, "Great, now I've got to do a whole bunch of converting to do. Seeing how I just commited to a small block engine and I've got a FE Block!" So I called the guy back just to see if the motor mounts were included. He threw in EVERYTHING! I'm talking alternator, carborator, newly painted valve covers, new gaskets, brand new extra distributor cap and plug wires, even the original ford breather, and everything else I'd need just to set down in the truck and get it running for, are yall ready? Three hundred and fifty dollars! All I need now is a C4 and a new wiring harness! I'm so glad because I can finally turn this truck into something my Papa would've been so proud to drive! <3
**Will post pictures as a comment to this forum tomorrow when i go to pick up my 302

Dixielynn,
You go girl! Not too many ladies would ever think about doing a project like this. But you'll be fine, with all the resources here on Fordification it's an easy job. You'll also need the engine frame mounts for the 302, (the ones that bolt onto the frame/that the motor mounts bolt onto). Here's the tech article on the mounts:
http://www.fordification.com/tech/engine-perches.htm
And it sounds like you'll need to maybe do some work for shifter linkage.
I just finished the same swap a few months ago, (except I threw a C-6 into my one ton). Maybe my build thread can help, I documented it with a boatload of pictures:

Good score on the new engine. The wiring harness you have should be able to work with it if it is not damaged to badly.

Okay guys. We have a slight change of plans. I'm just going to build my 360 block into a 390, I'm selling this 302 and using the money off it and all of my Christmas money to rebuild my block! Wish me luck! I'll need it!
