Power Brake Booster Bracket

Post by davbell22602 »

Is the brake booster bracket for the 67 F100 different from the 68-72 F100?

Whats the difference? I'm talking about the one thats mounted under the hood on the firewall not the brake pedal bracket.

In my experience the 68-72 is an easier find.

wait a second. i thought the booster brackets were the same for 67-72 but the boosters were different rod lenghts. 67 being a shorter rod in the same distance from the firewall as the rest of the trucks.

Thats what I was thinking too. That link just shows the difference in the pivot pedal brackets.

I went back and re-read the tech article then I read it again. I have to say that I was wrong and Fordman is right. The 67-72 brackets are supposed to be the same. The difference is in the pushrod length of the 67 only booster. Sorry if I mislead you.

Okay, here are a couple really crappy photos from my '67 F250. You can barely see anything because of the booster. The first photo is from the driver side; the second from the passenger side. The brackets aren't straight out. They kind of slope down like a parallelogram. They bolt to the firewall by two bolts, off of a flange that goes towards the sides of the truck (rather than going in towards each other). The same thing with the booster side: two bolts each, on a flange that goes outward. Sorry for the junk photos, but hopefully someone else can post a few pics of their own.
