Well, its more of a Desert Pink, but I did this in about 2 minutes while at work. I could do it a lot better if I had more time. But it should give you a basic idea of what you might be looking at:

Image

Of course, if it were MY truck.. :D :

Image

But then, I am a green fiend and your truck looks absolutely bad ass as a military type highboy!!

Image

Ill leave Photoshop open with your picture loaded and highlighted throughout today until I go home this afternoon. So if there are any other colors you want to check out or different shades, let me know and I can throw it up here. It will take me about 20 seconds for each color... lol

How the H!!! did you do that so clean? Is there a wizard I don't know how to use yet? I can get the color and the big spaces changed but I have a heck of a time keeping the edges clean. I'd be interested in your technique. Also, my hood is primered and my truck is blue and when I paint over the hood, like with red, it's darker than the body. Not intending to hijack, Cryptic!

No trick... I just used the magic wand to select the similar color large areas, and then held shift to keep adding to it with other similar areas... Once I had all of the blue selected, I then used Ctrl and the lasso tool to subtract the few areas that spilled over into non-blue areas. If you were to zoom in, the edges are not clean at all.. I just kept the magic wand edges and then changed the color... If I had been doing something I really cared about, I would have zoomed in all the way around the made the edges extremely clean. :)

What made that picture so easy is that the light blue was a nice contrast to the background. That would have been a lot tougher if the truck color was simliar to anything in the background.

Matte is hard to do with an existing photo as the method I am using just uses the existing sheen. But here is about as close as I can get to a matte black in 20 seconds... I left a slight hint of color (dark green) in there so that the black did not completely wash out all of the shapes and highlights.. Anyway, it gives you a basic idea.

Image

And as for the tan or army green with the chrome, I was thinking the same thing until I saw it. The photoshop picture actually pulls it off pretty well even with the chrome! I think it looks sick!
