Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
I got all the parts for my 3g alt upgrade today from the bone yard. The 130 amp alt came from a 95 ford taurus. Also I pulled two 175amp slo blo fuses from taurus and the power cable that will run from alt. I pulled the two wire plug from a bump that runs to the horn(the other wire will feed the alt) so my wires dont look jack legged. I took the alt by a autozone and had them check it. They tested it 3 times and it passed with 14.66 volts..

Great work man. Looks great.
Where did you get the hard brake lines? What about the rubber lines? I have to do all 4 of mine. I put on a power booster earlier this year & the brakes have been nothing but hell ever since. No pedal, grabbing, leaking cylinders ect. It's dangerous to drive.
Anyway, nice work on everything.

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
That's what happened to mine. I think they extra pressure was making gunk turn loose in my lines. I would blow them out then n a couple of days they would screw up. I got stainless steal lines from inline tubes. They fit like a glove. Then got the rubber lines from Autozone. It fixed my problempapabug71 wrote:Great work man. Looks great.

Great! Thanks for the info. I can't wait to get the brakes & front end rebuilt on the truck. It drives like hockey as it is now.

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
Nice truck! I had a question about the brakes. When you bought the stainless steel lines did you get them for power/non power and did you get disc or drum? Thinking of putting ss back when I build mine up. Also where did you buy the lines?
Thanks, Cole

Re: Timmytim's 1970 f100
Hey Cole thanks for the reply, My truck has all wheel drums. I found a booster that worked with all drums. There are some diff between the brake lines on drums vs disc. And the one I know forsure is the disc brakes call for a porportional valve. The drums do not.So If ure truck has all drums just get the lines for all drum manual and you will be fine. If you upgrade to disc you will have to either modify the lines you have or get new ones for a disc truckcole71 wrote:Nice truck! I had a question about the brakes.
