Let's try process of elimination. Mine's a bone stock, original, 2WD, 302/3.03, long box, no options. This part is not on my truck. So it must be related to 4WD, short box, FE, auto tranny, option, or accessory. It looks like it probably connects 1 pivot point to 2 pivot points and is outside of the cab, but probably not engine compartment due to the type of dirt/grime on it. I did a cursory search of the diagrams and schematics sections and didn't pick up on it although I did see similar bracketry on parking brake assemblies that differ from mine. Do you believe it's original to your truck or could it have come from another donor?

Guys...
He "suckered" all of us on this one LOL! What Billy's not telling you all, (I've still got some memory left LOL) is that his bump is in fact a "bumpadent".
He set the cab on the dent 4 X 4 a few years back. I'm thinking Ryan might be as close as anyone. Seems like I remember my 79' Pathfinder conversion using a similar bracket on the 205 linkeage? :hmm:

OK, Sorry for no replies. My welder guy showed up yesterday. So I got my frame fixed. And the cab mounts on the truck. So on my way to come inside I dropped my computer into a bucket of oil. So I tear it down last night clean it up let it dry. Clean it again this morning. Still a little oily put it back together anyhow and now I am back online!

More on my truck.

It has a 72 4x4 Frame,
It has a 71 4x2 Body
The Transmission was something out of a 67 F350 Dually :?
It is not the 2 into one brake cable, that is still on my truck.

Ok, when I tore my truck back down to the frame, it didn't have a Transfer Case Installed. All's it had was the 390, the 2wd 4 speed transmission, and the drive shaft. Everything was pretty basic. It does have power steering and brakes, with disks up front. I just don't have a clue what I took it off of. I figure if I get it back together without installing it I didn't really need it right :hmm: .

The "disgronificator" I need to make sure I can find that today  !

It isn't the emergency brake cable here is mine on the truck.

I don't believe it is part of the transfer case either. I figure when I start putting things back in, it will just fall into a spot. Or I will never figure it out and it will be a crucial part and my entire truck will fall apart!

Pretty sure you said you have a NP205 transfer case you're planning on putting into the truck.

In another post, you indicated that you were going to install dual shifters on it.

Check that transfer case. The part I indicated in the diagram I posted is the link that goes between the shift rails on the transfer case and connects to the single shift lever.

I realize that the diagram is for an F250, but I just grabbed that one "just because". There are several other diagrams in the MPC that are pretty much identical to that one and are for F100/F150 models.

My guess is it measures either 3-5/16" or 3-1/2" long, it's 1-1/2" wide (measured at the long, narrow area) and 1/4" thick.

Just sayin...

Lady's and Gentlemen we have a winner! OK. So the first time I looked at the diagram I didn't give it much notice, because I have never had this installed on this truck. I thought well that is similar but not exact so that couldn't be it, and I KNOW I took it off of the truck on the recent tear down. Heck I redid the transfer case like 4 months ago. Well once you said to look closer I did. My memory must be really going.

Anyhow the piece in its proper place.

My bad! I still remember the pictures where you and your buddies lifted the cab and bed manually from one truck to another. Coulda' swore you dropped the cab onto a dent.
Glad you got it figured out!

They sell them at every parts store, usually on the shelf right beside the relative bearing grease.
