I just put a complete core 302, a core 390 short block with the valve train(keeping the heads cause they are less than 3 months old), a set of 390 headers, a small block t18, and various other bump parts in the back of an 84 f150 that is going to the scrap yard. I tried to put it on craigslist for practically nothing, but i just couldnt sell them. im also going to be cutting up a straight 1969 f100 bed with no rust cause i cant get rid of it either. and i still cant decide if i want to get rid of the 3 bumpside 9''s i have.
I guess this will give me a good run for scrap money so i can get further on my stepside. it just sucks cause i see all these potentially usefull parts going to waste.

- still got my first first car 20+yrs later : 69 f100 sorta kinda pretending its a Mercury M100 w/a 70 f350 sport custom cab (factory buckets) 67 grille with 69 ranger cooneyes 68 merc box and hood, some supercool fiberglass fenders i scored way back when, 76 f150 disc brake frontend..currently running a 90 5.0HO 4bbl/c4 auto & 3.50 posi...originally a 360/c6 f100 Ranger with dealer added towpack (incl. kelsey hays trailer brake),boxside toolbox, behind the seat stowage & belly tank...only original parts left on 'er are the frame, rear end, rear springs, and rear bumper...
This kinda stuff drives me nuts. Parts are so hard to come by in the Rust Belt of the northeast where everything was crushed or rusted away decades ago. Meanwhile, guys in the rest of the country are crushing stuff that is considered gold up here. It's just crazy. A rust free bed? You can't find a rust free bed for a '99 anymore, let alone a '69!
I would take the 302 and the small-block T18 in a heartbeat if you were nearby. That's always the problem - shipping costs. A friend and I have been talking about starting a business to recover usable old Ford Truck parts and ship them to the Northeast to sell. Haven't gotten that off the ground yet, but hopefully someday.
Shipping doesn't cost much at all. No offense, but the problem is laziness. People don't put in the work to understand LTL shipping and all the options available out there.
I ship stuff all the time. I find machinery, engines, transmissions in BF nowhere for deals, make the job as simple as it can be for the seller to load on a truck or drop at a terminal and pay with paypal.
I had one damaged shipment where someone stole the maincaps off an engine block in transit, I couldn't prove it and it cost me $400 for caps and honing, but other than that zero issues.
It would probably cost around $400 to ship a bed coast to coast LTL. Getting a seller to palletize it well enough to survive would be my primary concern, not the cost of shipping. It would be best to fill the bed with other stuff to maximize the cost, but make sure it doesn't change the freight class.
I always thought it was funny when I was shopping for a bed for my '70 for years how I would repeatedly find these perfect 67-69 beds and eventually I did settle for one and installed it on the truck. A couple years later I found the cherry '70 bed that's on it now. Perfect, original paint no extra gas filler hole or toolbox and had a canopy on it since new. Cost $225.

If you're going to be cutting that up anyway, I could use a couple of pieces of the lower bed side, between the headboard and the wheel well. Both sides of mine have the same damage (passenger's sides worse than the driver's side) and I'd rather cut it out than beat it out.

No problem. You can have it all if you want it. And you're close enough to get it too. Go for it!
