I'm not for sure if this is where this should be posted, but I have a question that I hope someone could help me out with.?.? I've recently started a '70 SWB F-100 project that I intend to lower. I've got some DJM lowering I-beams, but would like to add some shorter coil springs along with them. Does anyone know where I could find some lowered progressive rate coil springs for this application??? I'd rather not have to cut the old springs. It will have a small block and I really don't want to stiffen the ride.
Allen on my 79 f100 build from years ago I used the beams on the front and bought the 2" drop coils also. I dont remember from who but the where like $200 for the set. I do think that LMC sells a 2" lowering coil in there catalog. Any way back to the story, My truck was lowered 5" in the front and had a spring over with blocks in the back and a mini notch for 9" in the back. The stance of the truck was great but I wore the front tires out from the camber being off with the coil springs. I only was getting about 5000 miles on the front tires and it drove like a dream. I would imagine if you can find a shop to bend the beams a bit to compensate for the camber but it probably would raise the truck a bit doing it. Also this truck was running a 460 so the front was heavy.

Greg. Thanx for the lead. I've checked the last few LMC catalogs I've gotten & unless I'm smoke'n crack, I'm not seeing any lowering springs. Thanx again for the pointers and meeting me in Sherman. Hope ur daughter's feeling better.?.
We went home for the night and then went to lake Texoma this morning. On my route found two locations with 16 Bumps total. Gotta do some finding out about them. I will check on the springs and get back with ya.

If this is the only place to get them then it is the only place to get them. My 1 1/2" drop springs from Eaton for my CV IFS were $225 at my door. Granted we are talking about different vehicles. I checked Eaton's site & they have 2" drop springs for the I Beam suspension for your truck in either standard or heavy duty application for $189.95. Anybody wanna bet the $330 DJM springs are rebranded Eatons? They will also custom build you a set based on what you want if you don't think their off the shelf springs are going to provide what you desire.
Great folks to work with. When I called them & told them what I had they took all my info & the ride was excellent with the new springs. My receipt specifically says 1970 F100 with 2005 CV IFS. I was so satisfied I called them back to let them know. Not trying to bite on your offering Wilma but there is a considerable price difference & I for 1 have been completely satisfied with product & service from Eaton.
Hey guys. I appreciate all the pointers. I'm really leaning towards the eaton's. (1) due to the price difference, and (2) as stated, the DJM's are probably manufactured by eaton anyway... I really do appreciate all the leads!!! They have been quite HELPFULL.
I think you will be happy with a choice of Eaton. Don't be afraid to talk with them prior to ordering. I know you want a 2" drop but they only do springs so I would have to say they are experts & will answer any question you have. I didn't just order mine I told them what I wanted & what I had.
Djm has their springs oem'd aka manufactured by rocky mountain spring co. They are local to me however they use a lower grade steel for their coils. And that's coming straight from the people that build them

Well that can explain why after a year I had to put those corkscrew spring spacer on my 97 F150 to bring it back up a 1/2" I wanted slammed but not eating inner fender wells and tires. I originally had chisholm suspension WELL as we all know they stop making suspension parts They used dearched spring for the rear after about 5 year the drivers helper spring broke so had to go back to the OEM springs with DJM flip kit I was happy with that and the front end was still chisholm until the drunk driver side swiped the front end and bent the a-arm while it was parked in front of the house
So I just want to get this right that I can lower with the DJM i beams and then add lowering springs to make it even lower? for a total of about 4-5 inches in the front?
