Looking Great. Love the paint! Whats the name of it? It looks like the color on my 2010 F150, Blue Flame.

Re: 1969 Ranger - Project Glory Days!
Thank you Sir! Appreciate the comment. I picked this color out of the PPG book in 1992. I loved it then and I love it now. (although it looks A LOT better this time around). I really like the Blue Flame, as I just had a 2010 F150 in the shop for work, very pretty blue.
I've been doing lots of scary metal work on the bedside saga, should have something to show you guys soon!

Thanks! Yeah, I was just waiting for him to spit up on the carpet, but I think he knew it would be his someday, so he held back.evolutioneng wrote:really nice! looks like little man is super clean with his sweats and hoodie.ha
Here's the update on the bed work: I cut the upper portion off the donor first, so I could access the spot welds from the top side.
Then I cut the lower bedside off the bed I'm using, allowing me to cut the spot welds from the lower side.
Sanded and blasted the back side of the new bedside and the inner panel of the red bed. Gave them 2 good coats of POR-15 (gloss gray) and then topcoated with Satin black.
This is just a test fit of the replacement bedside - looks good to me!
Don't you just love how a guy can show something that he struggled with and cussed at for several evenings, and make it look like it took 10 minutes with no issues?

Thanks Randy!!sargentrs wrote:You make it look so easy. That's some impressive work Tyler. Great job!
My younger brother came over last weekend and helped me attach the bedside permanently this time. It's welded and bonded across the top, and then welded everywhere else. I had about 5 different ideas on how to do this, but I gotta say, the approach I decided on worked out pretty well and I'm confident that seam will never see moisture again!
Oh - and while my bro was there, I offered him a beer and asked him to stay a few more minutes We got the hinges and doors bolted onto the truck!
These are almost too pretty to bury!

Just went through most of your project thread and have to say great work on the truck. I really like the color. My truck should be back from the painter soon and I can't wait to get back to work on it. The final steps do seem a bit taunting and the parts are really starting to add up but at least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Tyler ,when you get that truck back on the road we need to get all the members in the metro east and StL area together for a meet and greet/ cruise. If it us a good size group we can reserve the upstairs room at Johnnys in Soulard for lunch or dinner!

Re: 1969 Ranger - Project Glory Days!
Guys - I have a problem. I believe it's called: Priority Project Focus Disorder. You see, my '69 Ranger got a new roommate last weekend, and now everytime I go into the shop to work on Project Glory Days, I get distracted!!
I really need to get this bed to the paint shop, any suggestions on how to cope with PPFD?

I miss my 95 white lightning. I only got to enjoy it for a few months before I sold it.

No kidding! Huh, we do have similar tastes! These trucks hit the road when I was in High School, and I've wanted one since. This is a '94 with 76k miles, I like it.tybob81 wrote:I miss my 95 white lightning. I only got to enjoy it for a few months before I sold it.
