Friend of mine just gave me a dash panel suggestion. He's an old gear head with all the equipment you'd ever want at home. He said he'd "whorl" it with a wire brush in the mill, making little overlapping vortex's every so many inches intersecting each other. Forgive the pic (he's a TransAm fan) but you get the idea.

Wow. After seeing Tylers bezel, I need to go back to the drawing board. Very nice!

Thank you guys very much for the compliments and suggestions, I really appreciate them!

This is the bezel after hours of polishing. I set it back in the panel just for the visual. All the machine marks are gone, and looking much better I think.

If not the part.....maybe a CAD file? Very nice work. I thought my flat aluminum insert was going to be nice. You took it to a whole new level.

This thread is great. It's great to see professional work up close with details. Not many body shops have the skills to do this kind of work. Rob

Wow, thank you sir! I appreciate that, but I'm no expert. Just trying to do the best job I can, taking tips and tricks from this board and friends, and hopefully returning a few of the favors.

[quote="tylerb43"]67mann, Thank you very much for the links! I've searched several times for the cab mount stuff, but somehow I've never seen that thread, so thanks. I've read that PS article before, but I didn't remember the pitman arm stuff being so detailed in there, that's awesome. I think I'll just grab the arm and the box next time I'm out at the farm where the donor truck is.

Did you end up using the pitman arm from the '73 PS box? or did the one on your 69 match up?

Well, I used the '73 arm, but just because I couldn't get the '69 arm off the old steering box. I'm pretty sure they were the exact same part number.

Enjoying your project! I have internet access on my phone, but no computer. This build makes me want a computer so I can better see the details-oh!-and so I don't have to wait for 34 pages to load! Lots of good pics here!
