Friend of mine just gave me a dash panel suggestion. He's an old gear head with all the equipment you'd ever want at home. He said he'd "whorl" it with a wire brush in the mill, making little overlapping vortex's every so many inches intersecting each other. Forgive the pic (he's a TransAm fan) but you get the idea.

This is the bezel after hours of polishing. I set it back in the panel just for the visual. All the machine marks are gone, and looking much better I think.

If not the part.....maybe a CAD file? Very nice work. I thought my flat aluminum insert was going to be nice. You took it to a whole new level.

Well, I used the '73 arm, but just because I couldn't get the '69 arm off the old steering box. I'm pretty sure they were the exact same part number.

Enjoying your project! I have internet access on my phone, but no computer. This build makes me want a computer so I can better see the details-oh!-and so I don't have to wait for 34 pages to load! Lots of good pics here!
