Re: Crown Vic IFS Questions
[quote="robbuyscarz"]the front and rear will both come down about 6". you will end up building motor mounts and there is a couple of inches of available adjustment height on the mounts depending on the motor you install. If you use a 4.6 or the 5.0 crate engines, they will bolt up to the crown vic mounts.
5.0 coyote crate will not bolt to stock mounts with the stock oil pan. Oil pan hits the crossmember and oil filter and the control valve on the rack don't like to share the same space.

Re: Crown Vic IFS Questions
So I noticed this is a very old post. So my hopes is everyone has completed their project by now. How about some pointers? Which rear works best? Even ride height front to back as well as positraction. My 68 f100 custom cab has a 351w swap and I would like to be able to hook up both wheels since I wanted to do the swap for handling purposes. I figure two birds one stone. So....thoughts on the beets rear to use?

I have a 72 f-100 i've been contemplating the cv front suspension swap on. One thing i've been curious about is how to connect the steering shaft from old column to newer style steering rack?

Re: Crown Vic IFS Questions
This is a good thread and i did the crown vic swap myself and it took me about 6 hours total from teardown of the truck to getting it all finished and it wasnt a hard job in the lease. the only thing that might give you trouble is getting the old crossmember out which i didnt have mush trouble with since i was using a air chisel to knocl all the welds and rivets out but the main section i used a plasma cutter on. ill show some pictures of what my progress was, its best to have a crown vic donor car so you can cut out the origional spacers to put into your truck frame.

Re: Crown Vic IFS Questions
This is My first question so I hope this is the right place if not some body set Me straight please.
I am old, I type with one finger, see with one eye and hear with one ear so cut Me some slack please.
I picked up a 67 f100 step side 352 FE c6 runs good enough so first thing is CV front suspension.
My question is about power steering pump a bracket and the brake booster. The originals are not available.
Will a Mustang booster work? I want to keep it as compact as possible and easy to find parts.
What power steering pump will work and any ideas on a bracket and pulleys?
Thats about it right now the swap has been covered pretty well and I will be using a Ritchey kit, I just heard of problems with power steering pumps and only want to buy one.
Thanks Carl

Re: Crown Vic IFS Questions
You can fit the 95 mustsng booster in easily but as for power steering I used a 2003. Mercury marauder power steering because it is direct fit for the iFs crown Vic and you can fab your own brackets but I went with 32 valve 4.6

Re: Crown Vic IFS Questions
I tried to post pics of my setup but the files were too large, you could use a 98 explorer bracket and pump for the setup and use crown Vic lines

Re: Crown Vic IFS Questions
I went with the hydro boost off a 2006 super duty, because I didnt have room for a vacuum booster with the 5.0 coyote, I found a machinist that makes a an adapter for a ford focus rack. they use the same style end as the crown vic rack on the hose, that way i could just make up custom braided hoses with an fitting. I'm running a KRC power steering pump with a remote reservoir.
