bumpside receiver hitch???

Post by Bryan_Tenn »

I don't know if this is the right forum but I'm looking for info on hitches. I have the step bumper on mine that will haul my little trailer but I like to be prepared.

Just wondering what reese, westin, etc.. part #'s fit my 72 & what the dimensions are.

Anyone got some pics or links?

Any thing that fits a '87 and earlier chevy should fit , as the frame width is the same .

good to know.

I see some in NPD, Macs, & DC catalogs but they dont give any dimensions.

Does it matter what bumper? Should I weld or bolt?

awesome deal

I've been reading your lo buck thread over on the other forum. Been trying to find some truck buckets that don't need recovered, almost impossible!

I cant count the sets of high-back 69-70 Mustang seats I've had in the past & have sold, damn I'd like to have a set now :hw:

Thanks for reading. I appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, back in the late 90s I gave a pair of nice 70s to my brother with the understanding he was gonna use it for a project. Then he turned them around and gave them away.. WHAT A DICK!!!

Nowadays repro frames are like $400... each! I've been eyeballing the cost to rebuild the seats and it's not pretty but way better than $400 just for the frame.

I had a 70 Mach, 69 fastback, 67 coupe, 98 Cobra & tons of parts 15-20 years ago. I thought I was out of my building old fords days.

Thats why I hate to ever get rid of anything. It may be 20 years but I eventually need everything I get rid of again

This is my first bump, just trying to do a REAL BUDGET build shop truck for my small engine business. It has been a lot of fun getting back in the groove of things. It had been so long since I had torn a vehicle down like this.

This is the hitch I installed on Frodo:

Write up of the bumper/hitch install:

I've had no problems whatsoever with that hitch. I recommend it.
