Diagram for 1967 F100 4x2 3 speed manual on column

Post by Rehab1967 »

I replaced the Shift Collar on my column and now am putting it back together. I however have run into a problem and I now I can not find a diagram that resembles my column. All the diagrams show more parts than my column has and do not show the flange bolts. Am I missing something? :?

I do not have permission to view attachments on the first link. I did review the second link and that lead to my confusion. I assume now that my problem is that the previous owner removed a few parts when they attempted to replace the turn signal switch. Thank you for the reply.

Sorry about that. Site's acting flaky for some reason. I can see them either and I wrote the darn thread. Keeps logging me out every time I click on that link. There's a thread going around about it in the General Discussion forum right now. Hopefully it'll get fixed.

What do you think you're missing?

Sorry for the delay. According to the chart (If I am reading it correctly) I am missing 3517, 3520, 13A823, 13318.

You can see the first 3 in the first couple of pages in my rebuild thread. 3517? That's the lower and upper column bearing retainer. Keeps your steering shaft centered in your column bearings. Gotta have that or your steering shaft will wobble around. 3520 is the spring that sits on top of the steering shaft and holds tension to keep the wheel and tube flange nice and tight. Need that too. 13318 is your turn signal cancelling cam. Sure it's not on the underside of your steering wheel? Mine was stuck/pressed on there, didn't come off when I pulled the wheel. I don't know what that 13A823 is. Don't think I had that on my wheel and looks like it screws on.

The cancelling cam was on the steering wheel. (Thank you!) I also ordered a few parts I needed. I have it all back together now. Just trying to troubleshoot why the turn signal clicks off correctly on return to center from a turn right but fails to click off on return to center on a left turn. Any thoughts on this? (The wheel is aligned correctly.) Thank you.

Is the cancel cam on the steering wheel in the right position.

How do I tell? When I put the steering wheel on it is on the upper left. I can see the turn signal switch move when the wheel turns past :?

It should face 90 degrees to the left. As long as the steering wheel was put back as original and the truck is very close to proper alignment. It should work properly that way.
