So I have a disc brake front suspension and I have a few questions before I start the process.
1] Do you have to replace the steel brake lines or can you just change the rubber?
2]Where in the world does the proprotioning valve go?
3] Has any one found a deal on all the parts to re do there front ends?
another disc brake question

Re: another disc brake question
You should only have to replace the steel lines if they are damaged/stripped/etc.
Your proportioning valve is (on a 4wd but not sure on a 2wd) below the Master Cylinder on the frame, follow the lines out of the MC down.

Re: another disc brake question
If you swapping out from drums to disc brakes on the front end, you will need to change out the metal lines as well (for the front). You need to use the taller brake line mounts on each side go with the disc brake setup.
Finding a good location for the proportioning valve was my challenge as well. Remember, you will likely need to change out your rear brake line as well since it is unlikely you will be able to install the valve in an area that is reachable by the rear brake line. Additionally, you have to make sure the valve is easily reachable by the lines from the master cylinder and are not in the way of things like your clutch, etc.
Attached is where I placed mine. I think I ended up removing the steering gear to make it an easier install - allows you some additional brake line routing options.
As to front end parts, are you talking about the spindles, calipers, etc. What specifically? Did you bring the i-beams, radius arms from your donor vehicle?

You can get an aftermarket disc/drum proportioning valve from Summit Racing. New hard lines will have to be made. There are several brackets available to mount the valve just about anywhere.
