I"ve been looking at new wheels. I'm thinking 17x7 in the front and 17x8 in the rear to help with the narrow rear end. Is a 8" wide wheel wide enough to hide the narrow rear end?
Also, I'm looking at going with 4" backspacing for both front and rear. Would this be the ideal backspacing or should I look for something else?
8" wide wheel in the rear wide enough?

8 inches wide with 4-inch BS is fine.
The issue isn't with the wheel width in general. In order to correct the visual anomaly of a narrower rear track, what you need to do is have wider tires in back than in the front.

Mr Cole what size tires are you gonna run?
I am running '94 Lightning 17 " wheels and 275 / 60 / 17 Firestone Firehawk tires.
Are you running larger tires?

Was thinking 265/275, but not sure on an 8" wide wheel. Might have to go 255/55 on rear and 235/60 on front.HIO Silver wrote:8 inches wide with 4-inch BS is fine.

Re: 8" wide wheel in the rear wide enough?
I'll be running something around that. I want 275 or 265 in the rear and 235 or 245 in the front. Also, my truck is lowered so I'lll be running a little shorter side wall. Thinking a 55 or 50 series in the rear and 60 in the front. The truck has some rake already so that's why I'm going a little shorter in the rear.crazyhorse wrote:Mr Cole what size tires are you gonna run?
