drum brake piece
hey guys so i was looking at my frontaxle and on my driverside brake drumb there is a little oval piece missing where a brake line is supposed to go to any cllue n what it is and if i can use my old brake drum. i have my old rear and front axel i perchased another trucks frame (same year 70) ant it came with the rear end and front axle ect. that was the only little piece missing.

Kinda need to narrow that down a little. F100/F250/F350, 2wd, 4wd, etc. Can you find your brake assembly here and tell us which part on which diagram? http://www.fordification.com/tech/schematics_b.htm

2212 is the backing plate. Sounds like your describing a missing wheel cylinder. 2261/62 is the wheel cylinder and if you follow the line you see that it goes to a opening in the backing plate with smaller holes for the bolts. is this the area your talking about? if so, then you can see what the part looks like.

well 20310-s and 34806-s looks like it bolts into the area that i was talking about if you look at the very top of the brake diagram the cylinder looking piece that connects to 2028 if there was a view of the backplate i would be able to point it out1972hiboy wrote:2212 is the backing plate. If the brake line is supposed to connect to it, then you are talking about the wheel cylinder, if you are referring to the elongated hole at the bottom of the backing plate, that is usually plugged with a rubber plug (number 2092 on the diagram), then that hole is for inserting the screw driver to adjust your brakes.
