Radius Arm Bushings LOL right

Been out of the loop for a bit but my recent project made me want to get back and see what everybody else is up to.

I have had the new radius arm bushings sitting on the seat of the truck for almost a year. I just could never build up the courage to start the job. Last week I decided to take it to my trusted indi shop and let them and all their tools and lift replace the bushings. So every part they took off the truck was rusted or unusable. No big surprise the truck is 47 years old. So I'm getting new radius arm bushings, I-bean bushings, king pins and drag link. And an alignment. Hurts my wallet really good but it will all be right and tight tomorrow when I get her back. I may have to learn how to pilot the 68 all over again.

OMG! I have had this truck for 16 years. I guess when the front end deteriorates at a slow pace you don't realize how bad it is. My first indication that something was wrong was when I put in reverse and heard\felt a big clunk. That is when I found out I did not have any radius arm bushings.
I got the truck back this A.M. and the drive home was real shocker! Sweet straight line tracking and no noise. The front end does not float around. The guys did a real nice job removing all the rust on the front end and they even painted it black. Top notch job.
Good for another 47 years. They did tell me my Oddyssey battery would not hold a charge. I guess 13 years for a battery is all you can ask for these days.

I replaced all the bushings on the front end of Frodo, my '69 F250. I know just what you mean about the difference in handling. Enjoy your "new" ride!
