I can't tell from the upper column flange what the column is from. The only thing I can tell for sure is the person that did the wiring is grossly lacking in clean wiring skills. That's a fire hazard waiting for a time and an opportunity to happen.

There are very few electrical items added to these trucks that would require the factory main wiring harness to be cut, to install those items. Bullet terminals, butt splices, heat shrink and solder are cheap. Twisting wires together and covering them with electrical tape is just plain stupid and negligent.

Back to my original question which turn signal switch would I use on this column ? Agree it should've been done right the first time but you get what you get, I am trying to repair it and do it right.

IF it's a column from a Dentside, it would probably be best to install a turn signal switch for a Dentside column. I don't know if there's any differences/changes in the TSS (Turn Signal Switch) within the 1973-1979 models.

I know that there's a difference in a Dentside fixed column TSS vs. the TSS for a Dentside tilt column. (My '78 tilt column TSS was not the same as a '78 non-tilt TSS).

....one other thought, if your truck is an automatic, does your column have the TSS inside the cab, at the top, lower end of the steering column tube? Trucks all the way through 1977 had the NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) mounted to the column in this location. From '78 and beyond, the NSS was taken off the steering column and mounted on the side of the (automatic) transmissions.

If you have an automatic and if the NSS is designed to mount on the column, it's at least between a '73 and a '77 model column. If there's no means to mount the NSS to the column, it's from a '78 or '79 model.

TSS in my '78 tilt column.

Well the new TSS is in and it's still doing the same thing, no brake lights or turn signals...no power at the brake switch, e flashers, flashers are good, bulbs are good... I have tail lights and everything else??? What now?

On a '67, the brake light switch gets it's power from the dimmer switch via a 4 prong plug through a green wire (wire #511) http://www.fordification.com/tech/wirin ... iagram.jpg This wire gets it source from a terminal on the back and side of the ignition switch. Can you follow this diagram, find the wire at the ignition switch and check to see if it's hot with key on?
