rear leaf springs

Post by D67 »

I have a 67 f100 that is lowered with djm kit front and rear with shocks. Will removing the helper spring soften the ride?

Removing the helper spring shouldn't soften the ride until your truck is loaded. Correct me if I'm wrong but when your truck is loaded with a certain weight then the helper spring goes to work. Just regular cruising I don't believe the helper spring does anything. I took mine out a few years ago but I'm ready to put it back in. I took it out to drop the rear down a hair to get a more leveled stance. I also installed longer rear spring hangers and that dropped another inch or so. I think it's a little too low compared to the front now so I'm going to put the helper back in.
