Brake Lights Question
I'm working on my 68 F100 that I picked up a few months ago. My rear brake lights will not work and I assumed it was a faulty brake light switch, but upon further inspection, I could not locate one by the brake pedal. I did notice that there is a plug on the brake cylinder that has nothing plugged into it. Is that where the brake lights get the signal to turn on? I have circled the plug in the pic below. Any help would be appreciated to get the old girl back on the road where she belongs.

Re: Brake Lights Question
That socket on the distribution block is for the brake warning light, not the brake light switch. The brake light switch is inside the cab on the brake pedal assembly. There's a bracket somewhere on the upper part of the brake pedal bracket and a tab on the brake pedal bar itself. Not sure on a '68 but this diagram shows it at the top center of the page http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... pedals.jpg but it's not really clear exactly where. Follow the brake pedal up from the foot pad all the way up to where the MC push rod connects. Somewhere in that upper part of the brake pedal assembly will be a tab and a mating bracket with a hole or a slot in it for the brake light switch. This diagram also implies that it's near the top of the brake pedal and shows the harness leading to it. http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... g-6769.jpg
