I have a 3spd on the column in our '71. Can this be converted to an automatic column? If possible what will it take to do this?
Thanks

Re: 3spd column to Automatic
To do it I think you would need everything from a auto column to swap into place. I'd think it would be simpler to find a good auto column and bolt it into place instead.

Hey, Joseph, if you don't have any other plans for your old 3spd column, I could use one to rebuild for my other '69 F250. Let me know if you're interested in parting with it! Thanks!

Just remember when you are looking for a auto column a power steering column is different from a non power steering column. They are different lengths. Also try to match the same year as your truck as there a subtle differences that could create headaches. Different wiring connections and lengths. Here's a good link to look at. http://fordification.com/tech/powersteering.htm
