power disc brakes

Post by Bill Beyer »

Starting on a 1971 F-100 for my son, bought a 1978 F-100 for the 302 and auto transmission. I want to swap the power disc brakes from the 78 to the 71. Is there anything special or any tricks to help me with this part of the project that anyone will recommend? Thanks, Bill from West Tn. area

There's an article in the tech section about swapping the disc brakes in from a dentside, but I couldn't find anything on the master cylinder/booster swap. Hopefully you get some more replies because I am doing this exact same thing on my '70 over the winter.

I've done two front disc/suspension swaps on Bumpside trucks. I converted my '69 F100 short bed Ranger over to '77 F100 discs/front suspension in 2014.

Just last month, I finished up swapping a '75 F100/F150 front discs/suspension onto a '72 F100 long bed Sport Custom.

Disc brake swap I did on the '72 F100 Sport Custom.

Swap I did on my '69 F100 Ranger.
