Do you live in Texas? You have to get a safety inspection? Up here in the far north of North Dakota you just have to stroll into the DMV and register it with the pioneer plates and you don't have to pay registration ever again. I am sorry you have to go through such a hassle it seems haha.

It's all good. If I were to get antique plates I wouldn't have to do all that, but then it limits what I can do. Only drive to car shows, parades and to the repair shop. It's worth it to get the inspection so it can be driven any time :)

In North Dakota we have a separate collectors license plate that is used for car shows only and limited driving. The separate pioneer plates enable us North Dakotans to drive a vintage car/truck year round as long as its not used for a farm or business operation. It just has to be 40 years old. Nice looking truck by the way!

Thanks! It's been a 6-7 month process of making repairs. Really only been able to drive it around the block once a week for about a month now. Now that I will be able to get out on the road I can start getting a better feel for her and any quirks that will need to sorted out. But that's what we all love and do this for :)
