I've been looking at windshield gaskets for my 1971 bumpside. DC lists a premium and an economy one. does anybody know the difference between the two. Also if anyone knows of a different brand that they like better that would be helpful. By the way this is for a no chrome windshield.

Cal DC and ask them the difference. I replaced both front and rear glass rubber on my 1969 a few years ago and got my parts from them. They fit very well.

I think “Precision” is a good brand.

Hey Mach428 did you use the premium gasket or the economy from DC? I'm just curious at this point because I got what was supposed to be a premium gasket on line and got a windshield from a local glass shop and installed it yesterday. It did not go well but I'm not sure if it was poor quality parts or my lack of experience. If I ever have to do another one maybe I'll try DC or the Percision brand that jzjames sugested. Thanks to both of you for the replies.

I didn’t know they had two different ones but mine must have been premium. It went in rather easily with the chrome. I had a glass man install for me.

A new gasket , especially with chrome can be a challenge.

Ill have to go back and look, but most places list one for original glass and new glass, newer glass tends to be thinner....
You need an old timer to know anything about the glass in these, almost if not all newer stuff is urethane in...
