C6 question
I think I need to change out the modulator valve on the tranny and I was wondering if the transmission fluid is going to dump out everywhere when I pull it out - anyone know for sure ?

re: C6 question
It won't dump out, but you will lose a little.
Be sure not to lose the pin behind it, and make sure you have the correct type (there is a "Push in" and a "Screw in")

re: C6 question
Thanks for the reply , think this should cure the problem - late shifting and the tendency to drop down into 2and with a little more throttle pressure . Its this or the tranny is on the way out

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

re: C6 question
The replacement modulators have some adjustment to them. Also check for play in the kickdown linkage (replace any worn bushings) and adjust the clearance.
I posted the procedure a few weeks back, I'm out in Lubbock so don't have acess to my literature at the moment.

re: C6 question
I found that the kick down was actually rotating with the throttle so I was able to fix it by installing a spring . Now the kick down only works with the throttle at almost full ( like it should ) .
Thanks for the info though I was hoping that I didn't have to spend any money on this engine tranny combo ( 3902bbl/C6) as I (We) have a 460/c6 that is going into the truck
The 390 will be rebuilt and will replace the 360 in my F100 .
My dad is obsessed with speed so he NEEDS the 460
How do you like the Dana 44 as opposed to the 9 inch ?
The truck that 460/c6 is going into has a dana 44 rear with 2/72 gears which my dad wants to keep in order to have a nice highway cruiser .
Right now it turns about 2000 on the highway at 65 mph and the 390 that is tired and smokes a little is getting 16 miles per gallon .
