It has been a loongggg five months..
I will need to seal the garage floor and we would like to find a sealant that can repeatably stand up to oil, gas etc??

Whatever you use, do not skimp on the prep job!
Also, double check with your contractor as to when the concrete can be sealed. I read somewhere that sealing concrete less than a year old isn't recommended, as it hasn't really cured properly before then.

Fortunately this was not a new build but a re-build after a major fire in January, so no worry's (at least it was not my mechanic skills that started the fire ).flyboy2610 wrote:Whatever you use, do not skimp on the prep job!

I saw a rustoleum garage floor sealant/paint kit at Lowes today.. I am a bit concerned about paint. As 69 Flatbed mentioned, I'd hate to see it start peeling..
Thanks for the input!!

I've been wanting to get the U-Coat It system. You see in advertised in most of the car mags. It's a two part epoxy, and you can put those flakes of color in it. The reason I haven't is because of running studded tires in the winter, I can't imagine any floor coatings holding up to that.

Re: Garage Floor Sealant?
Fordnatic,
I had not thought about the studded tires come winter.. It looks as if we'll just use a floor sealer and be done with it. We're back in our home now and the garage is slammed with furniture and boxes so it'll be a week or two before we can get to it.. Wish'n I was fishin this weekend! Maybe tomorrow!!
