Life's back to normal

Post by sargentrs »

Married my baby girl off Saturday. Happy tears flowed freely and they went off on their honeymoon. Now life can finally get back to normal after 3 months of estrogen hell with the daughter, the wife, the future mother in law, the ex wife, etc. Not to mention the $$! Altogether I'm out about $2500 and a thousand gray hairs. Bought the first suit I've had on in 35 years. So the truck budget went KABLOOEY for my little girl's sake (no regrets) and I'm back to square one. First up.......$400 for hot tanking, magnaflux and machine work on the block for the new engine. Now where's that lottery ticket I bought yesterday.........? :hmm:

Sorry to hear about your wife. Hope she gets better soon. I'll send up a word to the Big Guy! If I knew then what I know now, I'd offer them $1500 cash and buy their plane tickets if they'd elope! But, hopefully, she'll only do this once and the pictures are excellent. Thanks for the empathy!

I never did understand why the parents have to pay for the wedding, when I get married I think I want to pay for everything myself. Sargentrs if this wasnt a rule for the world you would still have you truck fund :) congrats thou!

I never understood the wifes family paying for wedding bit. When my wife and I got married, We flew from So. Calif. To New Orleans got married enjoyed three days there. Afterward jumped on a cruise ship to several ports including Jamaica.
All the time video recording the events (not the consummation)
We paid for it. Everyone else got to see the video. No one at the wedding to mess it up. No loans to pay. Life goes on.
Now get the truck fund back up and do some wrenching.

Congrats Sarge, glad to hear things are looking better. As for me, I have 2 engaged, One here in Indiana and one in Cali...she's already preganent,so lets not go there...Then the next two are 5 and 8.. They are off school tomorrow, the older hanging out with her cousin, and the youngest wants to stay home and help work on the dirty old truck, she said. So thats the plan. I figure between her and I we can get it done long before we get the other two married or her and her sister reach high school. Then I can show up in my bump with my gun rack loaded, and my best suit....LMAO, those poor little boys won't know what to do.... Glad is all good on your side of the Mississippi. Keep the faith brother, it'll all work out.
