Diesel clutch question
I got a question for the hopped up diesel owners out there. I gotta replace my 1500 dollar slipping southbend. Who makes a good performance diesel clutch? I got what southbend suggested about a year ago. Now its slipping. They call me a liar and say I put in wrong clutch. I want to find someone else to deal with. Any personal experience with clutches would be great.

Re: Diesel clutch question
I use SBC stuff regularly and they have screwed up my orders several times. Sent the wrong pressure plate, even the wrong flywheel for an entirely different engine. They have always made things right.
Do you have the old clutch out? What failed? That's where I would start. If you dumped the clutch every week for a year then I'd say it's your lesson.

Re: Diesel clutch question
We do need to know the HP and torque ratings and the typical uses for it. Also have you swapped out the dual-mass flywheel? I though southbend was the best out there, but I never hopped up a diesel enough to warrant something so extreme.
You might also want to go over to other forums like thedieselstop.com or powerstroke.org and ask around there. There is a lot of people in those forums and quite a few have highly modified pickups.
