Towing Capacity?

Post by cowbay »

:help: Someone asked me today with my bone stock 69 f100 with a 390 and 3 speed with overdrive what the towing capacity was. And to be honest I have no idea. I looked around and can't find it, so why not go to the brain turst here and what it is? :fr:

It's not what they can tow, it's what they can stop
I've pulled a 4200lb truck on a 2000lb trailer , plus tools and stuff
and i got by , but my F350 was more stable.
Brakes on a well balanced trailer make all the difference in the world. :2cents:

I've also had a near death experience on a poorly balanced trailer.

Well that goes without saying, it is all about the trailer and how it is loaded. Do it wrong and it can be a religious experience. But still I was wondering what did the factory rate it to be?
