Don't know how many drill bits you all go through but man I have gone through a ton and their not always cheep ones. So before I dumped my drill bit drawer into the garbage I thought I'd give this tool I saw at Lowes a try. $79.00 seems a little steep but I know it would be worth it if it works, and boy does it ever. I ran all my drill bits through it in about an hour and the are all like new if not better. If you use a lot of drill bits you might want to look into it, just my

I usually sharpen mine about once a year & place them according to size.
When I dull one I TRY to throw it in the dull bit bucket ( this keeps me from wasting my time later by installing a dull
bit & having to remove it again).
You can't drill with a dull bit & can't saw with a dull blade.

Re: Drill Doctor really works well
Thanks for the feedback guys! I've been needing one of these for years, (20-30 HSS drill bits that won't cut anymore). It will pay for itself in the first day i buy it.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

I've got one too, and love it.
HOWEVER...I bought a set of cobalt drill bits last spring (Amazon, $79.00) and they are FLAT OUT AMAZING. Drilled through the F150 frame (for a hitch mount) in no time flat.
Highly recommended if you value your time.

The key to drill bit life is drill oil and speed control. That is of course if you purchased quality bits to begin with.

You are right. The key is not to overheat the bit. Also if you can find a drill press. I bought one for my shop at the auction for a hundred dollars and the bits last three times longer than doing it by hand.BobbyFord wrote:The key to drill bit life is drill oil and speed control.
