My pretty engine

Post by evan_flatt69 »

:D

Well I mocked up my engine today. I just had to see roughly what it's going to look like. I'll post more as I go.

Noob question: I noticed your oil filter is vertical, is that stock or an add-on? The filter on my 400 block is at a 45* angle which makes things kinda messy, lol. Plus I wouldn't mind relocating the oil pressure sensor down there.

Not a noob question at all. Car engines had the oil filter sitting vertically while trucks were horizontal. Couldn't tell ya why but its probably to fit a bigger filter? At the auto parts stores I can't use the filter they say should fit it because it's like 2 inches too long I have to use a Dodge filter

JacSmith wrote:Whoah! i love how you customize your engine. Seen so many customization, that i also wanted to work on mine but I have little knowledge. I've seen customizations on other websites, I love green, I've seen one in honda-tech.com. :)
Thanks Jac. I was trying to go with a black on blue theme. Everywhere there is a bolt going into a blue part, the bolt head is painted glossy black. Bolts for the oil pan, fuel pump, oil sending unit, water pump, timing cover, even the intake washers are blue and the bolts are black. Just some subtle touches that make it pretty neat. Even the red distributor cap matches the hand painted timing marks on the harmonic balancer to kind of tie the timing in with a red theme. Not that you can see the marks with the timing light
