1958 Rambler wagon gasser/ 1960 International 4x4

Post by fomocoguy »

Hey guys, now that I sold my truck I am oficially on the hunt for something that is just as funky and cool as the crew was, but more of a hot rod. I saw this wagon on craigslist and thought I'd share: http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/3258981864.html Is this thing cool or what?! I think I may have to give him a call.

I also spied this old International 4x4: http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/3296587790.html When was the last time you saw a 1960 anything with 7k miles on it? I bet I could clean her up, remove the fire stuff, ebay it and make a few bucks...

I knew that was coming. Even though I want a hot rod, this truck is calling my name. I'm gonna go tonight and have a look at her. The guy says he bought it from the fire dept. that he works for and that it's a legit 7k mile truck. It should be easy enough to tell when I see it.

Well, I lookedat her last night. For a 7k mile truck, she's actually pretty rough. The right side looks like it was drug across a few trees in it's lifetime. The front bumper they built involved hacking on the front framerails and welding directly to it. The engine is leaking from just about every gasket. Tires are shot. But the thing that put the nail in the coffin for me was that it's got a 250 gallon water tank that has been in the bed up against the cab for it's entire life, and it's caused the whole truck to "bend" a little in the middle, so the top of the bed is much closer to the cab than the bottom of the bed. If it wasn't for that I might have made an offer.

The search continues.

thats a shame. For a truck to only have 7k on it youd think it would be in a lil bit better shape. Usually that fire dept stuff is well taken care of. It was just a work vehicle.
