brake proportioning valve or distrubution block?

Post by 67lunargreen »

I have a 67 4x2 F100 with drums and manual brakes. I would like to get a new brake distribution block, the one with the warning light switch. It is on the diagrams listed as number 2B257 on the parts diagrams on this website. What is the proper name? Where can I get one? Or a rebuild kit? Mine is so dirty I cannot get the plunger to move so my light stays on. My brakes will be done after this. Thanks!

A 4 wheel drum brake system doesn't have a proportioning valve. That would be used on a disc/drum brake system. You need a pressure differential valve or rebuild the existing valve.

You can checkout Muscle Car Research.com. They sell some rebuild kits for various OEM brake valves.

Thanks! It was only $8.00 for the rebuild kit!
