'72 drum brake springs

Post by Woodys72 »

Hello all.Just wondered,is it normal for the brake springs to hook over the top of the lug on the passenger side brakes, and hook under the lug on the driver's side drum brakes? Thanks all.

I was curious myself because of all the pictures on the internet. However, it is normal. You use the same springs for each side. The difference is because you use the opposite side for each backing plate. See below:

Under on the driver's side and over on the passenger side. You are good to go.

Thanks,JWW. Even my dad,who has restored a few older Fords, wasn't sure about this.I was afraid that I had two of the same spring kits. Thanks again!
